We demonstrated the existence of PSI-LHCI-LHCII-Lhcb4 supercomplexes and PSI-LHCI-PSII-LHCII megacomplexes in the stroma lamellae and grana margins of maize mesophyll chloroplasts; these complexes consist of different LHCII trimers and monomer antenna proteins per PSI photocentre.
