The dysfunction of E3 ubiquitin ligases is important in the pathogenesis of many human diseases, as they play important roles in multiple cellular processes. In this review, we evaluated the structures, functions and clinical significance of two RING-type E3 ubiquitin ligases from the same subfamily, ring-finger protein 126 (RNF126) and breast cancer associated gene 2 (BCA2).
