Pharmacological activation associated with the mobile power sensor AMP-activated necessary protein kinase (AMPK) and inhibition of the mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) pathway caused an increase in NNMT levels that was like the effectation of sugar starvation. Activation of mTOR with MHY1485 prevented the consequence of sugar starvation on NNMT appearance. Moreover, upregulation of NNMT levels depended on functional autophagy and protein interpretation.
