Crows are so intelligent that they’re sometimes called “feathered apes.” That kind of mental agility can be both a strength and a weakness, though, especially when the family dynamic goes awry. Crow families work cooperatively to help secure their next generation before and after the eggs hatch. Each family member pitches in to collect and build nest materials, feeds the young and roosts for the winter.
