The purpose of this study was to introduce the method and first results of a modified tooth sectioning technique for the extraction of horizontally impacted mandibular third molars (M3Ms) with large root bifurcation. A total of 300 horizontally impacted M3Ms with large root bifurcation in medically healthy patients were included in this prospective study.
