Antarctic regions are known to be mainly dominated by diatoms in the water column under sea ice. In this study, we report for the first time two distinct phytoplankton blooms dominated by nanoflagellates ( less then 15 µm) under the landfast ice in Terra Nova Bay during the late spring-early summer 2015/2016.
