A 29-year-old previously healthy patient presented with a hyperparathyroid-induced hypercalcaemic crisis refractory to conventional therapy. The patient developed ventricular fibrillation and subsequently required emergency parathyroidectomy and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation support.
