Co-localisation showed that those vesicles contained misfolded HLA-B heavy chain along with β2m and endoplasmic reticulum (ER) chaperones (calnexin, calreticulin, BiP, GRP94) and belonged to the ER but were distinct from the peptide-loading complex (PLC).
