The purpose of this study was to investigate real-time elastosonography (RTE) to measure strain of the (para)laryngeal muscles in patients with primary muscle tension dysphonia (MTD) and healthy speakers. This is a cross-sectional study. Ten patients with primary MTD (37.8 ± 10.53 years) and 10 healthy speakers (36.9 ± 9.8 years) participated. Participants were diagnosed as MTD patient or healthy via voice history, voice self-assessment, perceptual voice evaluation, laryngeal palpation, and videostroboscopy. Then, RTE was performed to
