Moyamoya disease and syndrome are progressive steno-occlusive cerebrovascular diseases that manifest clinically with ischemic episodes. There is evidence for the use of electroencephalography (EEG) in preoperative and long-term postoperative evaluation of these patients, as well as in the intraoperative period to monitor for changes correlated with perioperative ischemic events. However, the utility of EEG in the immediate postprocedure time period has not previously been described. We review six patients who underwent pial synangiosis
