Spinal dural arteriovenous fistulas (SDAVFs) are abnormal connections between 1 or more radiculomeningeal arteries and a single radiculomedullary vein draining into the perimedullary venous system. SDAVFs present in older patients with a progressive myelopathy caused by diffuse spinal venous hypertension.
