Uncontrolled hemorrhage of deep, narrow and non-compressible perforating wounds is responsible for many trauma deaths. In this work, a novel biodegradable hemostatic sponge based on thermosensitive carboxymethyl chitin was prepared via simple cryo-regeneration process without using any crosslinkers.
