For microvascular outcomes the opposite was observed. For cardiovascular mortality, the HRs of higher HbA were 1.31 (1.08-1.58) and 1.09 (0.88-1.34), respectively with longer/shorter diabetes duration (p-for-interaction 0.11); and 1.43 (1.14-1.79) and 1.02 (0.85-1.23) in older/younger individuals (p-for-interaction 0.019).
