Lowering the energy barrier of water dissociation is critical to achieving highly efficient hydrogen evolution in alkaline conditions. Herein, we reported mesoporous RhRu nanosponges with enhanced water dissociation behavior as a new class of high-performance electrocatalysts for alkaline hydrogen evolution reaction (HER).
