Objective Many innovations have been introduced into pituitary surgery in the quest to maximize the extent of tumor resection. Because of the deep and narrow surgical corridor as well as the heterogeneity of confronted pathologies, anatomical orientation and identification of the target tissue can become difficult. Intraoperative MRI (iMRI) may have the potential to increase extent of resection (EOR) in transsphenoidal pituitary surgery.
