Nonmass enhancement (NME) on breast magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is defined as an area whose internal enhancement characteristics can be distinguished from the normal surrounding breast parenchyma, without an associated mass in the Breast Imaging Reporting and Data System lexicon.
