Manufacturers have, I suspect, been fighting raising prices to cover rising costs, especially shipping, by changing packaging in order to create the product look larger or altering the container size to contain less with it. In many cases prices haven't changed in affect on the scale of the container; the net amount of product a person receive with each purchase produces.
