We individually optimised the docking enzymes to degrade the xyloglucan backbone and side chains. Finally, we show that a purified designer xyloglucanosome comprising these docking enzymes was able to release xyloglucan oligosaccharides, galactose, xylose and glucose from tamarind xyloglucan.
