Vasculitis is a challenging disease for paediatricians. Certain vasculitides are quite common in children whereas others are much rarer compared with adults. The most common vasculitides in childhood are IgA-associated vasculitis (Henoch-Schönlein purpura) and Kawasaki disease, which are usually self-limiting vasculitides although children do develop complications as a result.
