We show exactly how these brand new fissures communicate with existing inequalities along numerous key dimensions, including socio-economic standing, training, age, sex, ethnicity and geography. We find that the deep main inequalities and policy difficulties that we already had are necessary in comprehending the complex impacts of the pandemic itself and our reaction to it, and that the crisis does by itself have the potential to exacerbate some of those pre-existing inequalities fairly right.
