The number and distribution of adipocytes directly affect the quality of livestock meat products. The analysis of the adipogenesis mechanism is the basis for improving meat quality. The formation of adipocytes is regulated by many factors, including a class of endogenous small RNAs, named microRNA (miRNA). Previous studies have shown that miRNAs could affect adipogenesis by post-transcriptional regulation of target genes. In our study, a decreased miR-99b-5p expression level was found in the adipose tissue of obese mice. Overexpression of
