In this work, we explored the photoinduced H-atom transfer reaction in pyrimidine-water clusters producing pyrimidinyl and hydroxyl radicals with laser spectroscopy, mass spectrometry and trajectory-based abdominal initio molecular characteristics simulations. The oxidation of liquid by photoexcited pyrimidine is unequivocally verified by the recognition regarding the pyrimidinyl radical. The dynamics simulations provide informative data on the time scales and branching ratios of this effect.
