OBJECTIVE To evaluate the clinical feasibility of NIPD for β-thalassaemia using circulating single molecule amplification and resequencing technology (cSMART). DESIGN Through carrier screening, 102 pregnant Chinese couples carrying pathogenic HBB gene variants were recruited to the study.
