To explore the experience of dealing with defecation dysfunction by changing the eating behaviours of people with rectal cancer following sphincter-saving surgery. The descriptive qualitative design was applied. Individual semi-structured interviews were conducted with 36 purposively selected rectal cancer survivors who had experienced sphincter-saving surgery.
