Conventionally, laparoscopic surgery in gynecology requires multiple accesses in the abdominal cavity. Laparo-Endoscopic Single-Site surgery (LESS) is a more recent technique consisting in a laparoscopy in which the abdominal cavity is reached by a single umbilical incision.
