We found that the CTD, which can be enriched in fundamental proteins, plays a vital part in RNA binding and in turn regulates different MTase activities. We demonstrated that the mutation of CTD residues modulate specificaly the different MTase activities. Entirely, our results highlight the crucial part for the L protein CTD in the control of viral RNA methylation, that is crucial for Ebola virus replication and escape from the natural reaction in infected cells.IMPORTANCE Ebola virus
