The Baihua Reservoir (Guizhou Province, Southwest China) has a history of mercury contamination associated with past acetic acid production activities at the Guizhou Organic Chemical Plant (GOCP). Soil and plant samples collected from riparian zones were analyzed for total Hg (THg) and methylmercury (MeHg) using cold vapor atomic fluorescence spectroscopy.
