Three new 1D chain structure type hybrid organic-inorganic lead(ii) halides are presented IQPbBr3, QPbBr3 and QPbI3, templated by large organic cations, isoquinolinium ([IQ+] = protonated isoquinoline) and its isomer quinolonium ([Q+] = protonated quinoline).
