After breakfast, Godfrey told us to go on ahead with Paul (our cook) and said he would catch us up shortly. We started out at a real challenge speed and in addition by the time Godfrey caught us up, he was clearly just a little surprised that his two 'pole pole' tortoises were looking a lot more like hares! The idea of a cool sealed bottle of water was my carrot and when I started slowing down, Paul was my stick because he'd start complaining that we'd never reach one's destination.
