Removal of all chest tubes was possible in 15 of 18 patients (83%) after a mean of 12 days (range, 1-25 days). Two patients had an anastomotic leak develop after esophagectomy and died with their chest tubes in situ. One patient underwent thoracic duct ligation after two failed INL procedures. No complications were recorded. CONCLUSION.
