What is a Psychiatry Assessment? Psychiatrists conduct psychological health assessments either in consensual outpatient meetings or, more urgently, throughout a Mental Health Act assessment (when a patient may not be pleased about the meeting). In both cases the goal is to ask about an individual's individual history and create a formulation (which might include a diagnosis).
