Symptoms of ADHD in Adults A certified healthcare professional will conduct an assessment to determine if you suffer from ADHD. They will ask questions and use standardized ratings scales to evaluate symptoms. They may also conduct interviews with your family and other people that interact with you. To be able to identify adults with ADHD they must show several symptoms that interfere with their daily functioning. Symptoms must have started in the early years of childhood, and they must not be caused by a different mental health condition
