Ethidium Bromide (Eth-Br) is an intercalating agent commonly used in medical and biological laboratories as a DNA staining dye. Despite its popular use, aqueous solutions containing Eth-Br showed high toxicity, mutagenic capacity, and deactivate DNA transcription.
