Family Court Orders Psychiatric Assessments Psychological examinations are often activated by the behaviour of parents or in cases where abuse is suspected. If there is excessive conflict in between moms and dads or a child is being 'pushed away', the evaluator will suggest family therapy and/or parenting courses. You can ask for the Court to appoint a certified Psychologist or be permitted to arrange one yourself. However, it's worth checking a Psychologist is HCPC registered and has no problem
