A phytochemical investigation of the roots of Xerophyllum tenax led to the isolation of three undescribed feruloyl sucrose derivatives along with two known feruloyl sucrose derivatives, heloniosides A and B. This is the first report of their occurrence in the genus Xerophyllum and the family Melanthiaceae.
