Broadband, coherent narrow-linewidth optical frequency synthesis is of crucial importance in dual-comb interferometric measurement. Here we present a detailed description of the construction and performance characterization of a hertz-level linewidth coherent optical frequency synthesizer across the optical telecommunication band.
