Item Upgrade in World of Warcraft Item Upgrade is a method that allows players to upgrade their armor, weapons, and trinkets above the ones they obtain from Mists of Pandaria or Warlords of Draenor. It requires crests and currency and can be done at any item upgrader NPC. Items with high requirements (eth titans, for instance) usually gain value after upgrading. Items with lower requirements receive a slightly lower value because they are able to be rolled flawlessly regardless of upgrading
