FOM and levofloxacin did not decrease viable E.coli cells compared with gentamicin. MEPM partly decreased them, and sitafloxacin (STFX) decreased them most potently. These observations indicate that E.coli can survive in the urinary tract under antimicrobial administration, and some antimicrobials such as FOM and MEPM cannot eradicate E.coli in uroepithelial cells. Adhesion on urinary epithelial cells and/or IBC formation might result in continuous isolation from the urinary tract and recurrence of ASB and urinary tract infections. The
