Incubation with a Glut1 inhibitor blocked mechanical stress-induced changes in SIRT1 and Runx2 in osteoblasts. In contrast with osteoblasts, the expressions of Glut1, SIRT1, and Runx2 in chondrocytes were not affected by loading.
