The representation of Hispanic characters in US media often falls into repetitive and unimaginative stereotypes. Time and again, we see the same narrow portrayals: the drug lords, the criminals, and the powerful kingpins. As a proud Venezuelan, it's disheartening to see our diverse and rich cultures reduced to these clichés. Such portrayals not only fail to reflect the breadth of Hispanic experiences but also perpetuate harmful stereotypes that contribute to a skewed perception of our communities. It’s crucial for media to move beyond these tired narratives to show the true diversity and vibrancy of Hispanic cultures.
