To evaluate risk factors and describe the association between maternal pre-pregnancy body-mass-index (BMI) and neonatal brachial plexus palsy (BPP) in vaginal deliveries with and without shoulder dystocia. This is a retrospective cohort study of singleton, non-anomalous, term vaginal deliveries in California (2007-2011). Deliveries were classified as with or without shoulder dystocia.
