A cobalt complex supported by the 2-(diisopropylphosphaneyl)benzenethiol ligand was synthesized and its electronic structure and reactivity were explored. X-ray diffraction studies indicate a square planar geometry around the cobalt center with a trans arrangement of the phosphine ligands.
