Throne and Liberty Gear Upgrades Upgrades to gear increase its base stats and sometimes enhances its extras. The value of these upgrades is determined by their tiers, requirements and the number of random augmentations that are applied. The most powerful racial Shield Razortail, for example, is usually upgraded to improve its lightning absorption capabilities in PvP and/or provide additional defenses to missile-based designs in the PvM. This makes it more tradeable over the unupgraded version.
