Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) is among the most common inner ear diseases. Although BPPV is one of the most common causes of dizziness, its pathogenesis remains unknown. Air pollutants might reach the middle ear through the eustachian tube and be absorbed into the inner ear through the round window membrane, increasing the risk of BPPV.
