Card counting is not illegal. It's not at all a connected with cheating. It is not something that the Gaming Control Board will fine or ban someone for partaking in. But in Las Vegas, casinos are private chattels. Often when a surveillance operator or an attentive floor supervisor detects a card counter, they ask the counter to leave.
